Marital therapy aims at understanding and treating one or both members of a couple in the context of a distressed relationship, or dealing with the problems in a relationship. Behavioral therapy is the most used one in marital issues. It is a well established treatment for marital discord. This form of therapy has evolved to what is now called integrative behavioral couples therapy. Emotionally focused therapy is short-term psychotherapy based on emotion theory and attachment theory. As the name suggests, it’s about dealing with emotions it can be used for marital issues. Cognitive behavioral couple’s therapy is a type of talk therapy that is goal-oriented and systematic in its approach.
